NextDoorBerries is a home based business that is being run by a companion of mine Damaris Rabago. She started around February 2019, I have got an insight on her reasons on what motivated her to run a business at such a young age. Prior to developing her business, she had faced obstacles that prevented her from moving forward. At the age of 17, she was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease known as Rheumatoid Arthritis. As it was a burden, she still managed to pull through by using one of her coping mechanisms, which is making chocolate covered strawberries. She mentioned “It's going to be something fresh in New York City to make chocolate coated strawberries. Dipping berries has also been a small hobby. I've got something that's diverted me from my bleak new life that I've been facing, it's been a moment of relief.” Post-covid-19 her business wasn't going as expected, she hardly had customers, until covid-19 struck, she continued to promote her business on social media while still taking safety precautions. As of now she is receiving an influx of customers and NextDoorBerries is coming to life.
